Breezing about Taipei is... well, a breeze! Between the Mass Rapid Transport (MRT), abundant taxis, well-networked buses, boat or your own two feet, get to anywhere in the city and beyond conveniently on any one of the above. Or perhaps you might feel creative and combine one form of public transportation with another to make things interesting. Either way, you'll never lose your way discovering the city from a whole new perspective, especially not when starting out from W Taipei, right in the heart of and close to many of the most famous attractions in town.
Because English is widely spoken and the Taiwanese are friendly, you can easily ask for or clarify directions as needed; you'll also see most signs for destinations and on public transportation in English. However, we recommend you carry Mandarin translations for places you're going to just in case you go off the beaten path. This is especially true in older parts of Taipei, full of local character and flavor, and also myriads of smaller streets and alley ways that might require a map for orientation (some might argue that part of the fun is getting lost - you never know what you might find!).
Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is the most convenient airport for traveling to Taipei, with airlines from all around the world flying in on regular schedules. Located approximately 50 kilometers from the hotel, we recommend hopping into a taxi or airport shuttle for the most direct and seamless way to get to W Taipei. Songshan International Airport (TSA) is a great option for our guests from China and Japan, as it is significantly closer to the hotel - all you have to do is hire one of the many taxis waiting outside the arrivals hall. To make your grand entrance to the hotel, please contact our concierge in advance to arrange for luxury transfers.
